Our annual youth convention is only eight days away. I must confess, it is the highlight of my year. Why is that? Because we usually have a powerful move of God every service!
What separates these services apart from any other service? Usually, I will pray more and fast the days leading up to youth convention. Is that what makes a difference? Maybe, but I think the difference is that we come expecting.
“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3
We expect for God to move and of course He does. But what if we have this expectation for every service? What if we didn’t wait for a convention or even the next revival to get what we need from God?
What if we expect healings and people to receive the Holy Ghost every service? What if instead of fasting and praying for a service where I know the power of God will move, I do it whenever I have the urge?
Expect Great Things!
I admit there are times when I am needing something from God, and I know that a revival is a week or two away. Instead of fasting and praying when I feel the need, I will put it off and wait for the revival. There have been many times when the service was powerful, but my personal need was not met even though I did come expecting.
Maybe that’s God‘s way of asking me, “Hey, what’s wrong with regular services? Why do you keep waiting for special ones?“ Maybe I’m the only one who does this and I’m just talking to myself, but if this is you as well, let’s always come to the house God expecting great things!
Ohhhhh…. this is SOOOOOO good!! ❤ Yes, a million times, yes! Expect "every" day… not just only "special" ones 🙂 We are currently getting ready for our communion service and I am looking so forward to the fasting that leads up to it. It's crazy, but it's like a vacation for me!
